There are several immobilization technologies available with different ranges of raw material costs. These raw material costs can be used to generate a cost per unit weight of enzyme immobilized. The following graphs present the total raw material costs of using a polymeric resin bead immobilization technology (left) versus ImmobiZyme™ (right). The costs associated with ImmobiZyme™ are over an order of magnitude lower than those using polymeric resin!

In lab studies, ImmobiZyme™ has demonstrated reuse of >30 times with limited loss of activity in industry replicated conditions.

Skin & Wound CAre
Enzymes used for exfoliation, skin renewal, and formulation enhancement can be immobilized to provide additional treatments and benefits. For example, ImmobiZyme™ may be used in wound care and debridement, improving enzyme co-compatibility with common antiseptic and analgesic treatments, and reducing damage to healthy tissue. Testing has demonstrated the capability to extend the room temperature shelf life of enzymes formulated into lotions and creams for up to one year.
